Gogo Bumhole comes out swinging for Adelaide Fringe with the World Premiere of GOGO BUMTIME
Co-Presented by Trigger Happy Productions
GOGO BUMTIME is the highly anticipated solo-show premiere of drag artist Gogo Bumhole crash-landing at Adelaide Fringe. Set up as the taping of new late-night talk show, audiences will watch as this pilot episode slowly unravels. Our protagonist quickly realises no crew have arrived for the show’s taping, but refuses to give up too easy. Watch Gogo pull out every trick they have; from every cavity.
Featuring cooking demonstrations, celebrity interviews, Steve Irwin-eqsue animal talks, guest performances and of course, a whole lot of Gogo Bumhole. And with no producer to call the shots, Gogo will ask the audience to vote on how the show plays out, making no two shows the same, and like no other show at Fringe this year.
GOGO BUMTIME is the second full-length work by performance artist Siobhan Gibbs, after cult-hit 2022 show SEWER RAT GIRL. “In dreaming up when and where I wanted to debut my sophomore theatre work, it was a no-brainer to choose Adelaide Fringe. I have felt such love and inspiration in Adelaide, but also see an opportunity to shake things up,” says Gibbs.
GOGO BUMTIME is serving up absurdist cabaret at its finest: music, sketch, high octane dance numbers and unhinged comedy. “I wanted to make a show that had depth, but most importantly was a great hour of entertainment… an opportunity to escape your life for an hour and get a good belly laugh, and if you take something more profound away, that’s a bonus!” Siobhan weaves in stories of queer shame, chronic pain and of course, mummy issues, all under the guise of good TV.
The show is an aesthetic homage to late-great children’s TV shows on the early 2000s in Australia, including Cheese TV, Hi-5 and Saturday Disney. A world with complete child-like permission to be silly, but content is strictly 18+.
You know what time is it? GOGO BUMTIME.
GOGO BUMTIME plays at The Lab in Fools Paradise at 8.15pm Wednesday 19th March to Sunday 23rd March as part of Adelaide Fringe. Tickets available here.
